Honouring the past, supporting the present, and inspiring the future, the Pudsey & Farsley Branch of the Royal British Legion stands together to support veterans, serving personnel, and their families. Through remembrance, fundraising, and community engagement, we ensure that the sacrifices of our Armed Forces are never forgotten and that those in need receive the help they deserve.

Our history
The Pudsey & Farsley Branch of the Royal British Legion has a proud history dating back to 1924, just three years after the Legion itself was founded. Formed in response to the devastating impact of the Great War on the local community, the branch quickly became a vital source of support for ex-service personnel and their families. Over the decades, it has played a central role in remembrance, fundraising, and civic duties, including welcoming the town’s first Royal visit in 1927 and supporting veterans returning from subsequent conflicts. Originally based on Robin Lane for 90 years, the branch later amalgamated with the Farsley Branch, strengthening its commitment to honouring the sacrifices of the Armed Forces. Today, we continue to uphold these traditions, working alongside our local community to support those who serve and ensure that their bravery is never forgotten.
Our members
The strength of the Pudsey & Farsley Branch lies in its dedicated members, who work tirelessly to support the Armed Forces community. With around 20 committee members overseeing the branch’s activities, we are also fortunate to have a wider network of supporters who contribute in countless ways. From organising fundraising events and remembrance services to helping with the annual Poppy Appeal, our members play a vital role in ensuring the branch remains active and engaged with the community. Some have served in the military, while others are passionate supporters, but all share a common goal—to honour the sacrifices of those who serve and to provide support where it’s needed most. Whether behind the scenes or on the front line of our efforts, every member helps keep the spirit of the Royal British Legion alive in Pudsey and Farsley.
